Virtual Partner Review: Assignment TBA Thursday 5/10
Assignment Goal: For this assignment, students will create an argumentative, thesis-driven essay that combines all the elements of successful college writing into one final, revised piece.
Assignment Description: This assignment will ask students to revise their mid-term exam into a final essay, or to begin anew with a topic provided below. In either case, students will be asked to find research to support their argument. Students must include:
* a source found on Academic Search Complete
* a source found on Lexus-Nexus
* a visual source
The first two types of sources can be found on the LaGuardia library homepage. The final source can be found anywhere, and the class will spend some time discussing ways to use visual material to support their point (and to cite those sources properly).
Besides the three topics from the midterm, students may also select:
* to revise their second essay (to choose this option, students must have received less than an "A" on this assignment, must revise at least 40% of the material, and must put the revised material in italics).
* corporate food control
* (updated) genetic modification and biodiversity
* a topic of their choice confirmed with professor by Thursday May 10.
